Thank you Laura Really thoughtful post. I find finishing really hard and stupidly stressful. Multi tasking is not great for helping with finishing we juggle too many ball’s at times. In my case it’s used to as I am no longer working. You gave me lots to think about xxxxxx

I feel your pain! What holds me back: 1) Easily distracted 2) Hyper-judging my work too soon in the process. But I think both of these traits are part of the creative life. I'm trying my best to "flow" with something until it feels somehow completed. Have you ever read Jeff Tweedy's book, "How To Write One Song?" Highly recommended. Very inspiring/freeing. Title is misleading, because his wisdom earned from years of songwriting applies to the challenges we both seem to face. https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/670253/how-to-write-one-song-by-jeff-tweedy/

Yes, I am very easily distracted and critical of my own work too but as you mention, it’s probably part of being creative ☺️ (and a perfectionist).

No, I haven’t, but I’ll definitely have a read, thank you so much for the recommendation 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

And yes, just ‘flow’ - I’m trying to let go of the fear 😬
